Shawn DeWayne Morris is accused of extorting money from internet users by claiming to be investigating for the Harris County Police Department, which doesn't exist. Investigators say the 40-year-old set up meetings with victims, then asked for $4,000 to dismiss their fictional cases.
Anyone who feels they may have been a victim is asked to call the Harris Co. Sheriff's Office at 713-221-6000.
