It happened at the corner of Kirkwood and Richmond just before noon. Fire officials say the manhole was missing a cover and the man fell right in. It took about 30 minutes for firefighters to get him out.
Firefighters say the man is expected to be OK. They've blocked off the coverless manhole and put in a request to get it fixed as soon as possible.
