Louisiana prison inmate charged in 1990 Houston murder case

HOUSTON

Back in September 1990, two Florida men came to Houston, purportedly for a drug deal. A Houston waitress who was dating one of the men told a Harris County Sheriff's deputy that they brought $50,000 to town in order to buy several hundred pounds of marijuana.

According to court documents, the woman last saw the two men alive when they left her apartment to meet Donald Miles. She reported them missing two days later.

Miles, 52, is currently in prison in Louisiana. In March, investigators interviewed Miles, when he reportedly confessed to his involvement in the deadly botched drug deal. He told authorities the two men were buried in shallow graves near the Hardy Toll Road.

Miles has been charged with capital murder.
