A victim told police that on March 10, he was outside his apartment in the 7900 block of Bellfort working on his car when an armed man forced him into his home. Once inside, the victim was pistol-whipped, forced to the ground and robbed.
The victim's girlfriend walked in on the violent scene and she was forced to the ground as well. She told police she was dragged by her hair to another room where her purse was.
The suspect forced the victims into the bathroom while he ransacked the apartment, and threatened to shoot them if they tried to follow him.
The victims identified John Gibbs from a police photo lineup. Gibbs, 22, is charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. Bail has been set at $50,000.
