The chase came to an end around 5:30 at an apartment complex near Court Glen and Bissonnet. Police say the 23-year-old suspect, who had warrants out for his arrest, had led them on a brief 8- to 10-minute chase.
The suspect was shot by a uniformed HPD officer at the apartment complex. He was said to be breathing and conscious when transported to Ben Taub and is expected to be OK.
The officer who shot the suspect is a five-year veteran of the Houston Police Department.
