Police: Woman arrested, man injured in domestic violence incident in car on Gulf Freeway

HOUSTON

Houston police say officers were dispatched to the inbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway near Clear Lake City Blvd. at around 10:30am Wednesday for a man down call. Officers arrived and detained a woman from the vehicle parked on the shoulder and are investigating the domestic violence allegations. The man was transported to an area hospital.

Two small children were in the vehicle and CPS was notified to come out to the location, according to police. We're told the kids were not injured.

The wrecker driver who responded to the scene told Eyewitness News that a man was outside of the car bleeding from the neck area when he arrived. The wrecker driver said the man was driving when he got into an argument with his female passenger. According to the wrecker driver, the man punched the woman in the arm and at some point she got a knife and stabbed him in neck area.

From SkyEye 13 HD aerials, a small child could be seen in the back of an HPD patrol car as officers searched a dark-colored Kia. A woman in handcuffs could be seen in the back of another patrol car.

HPD blocked one of the inbound Gulf Freeway lanes for the investigation and traffic was backed up because of it.
