The prisoner was being treated at a medical facility in Richmond when he hit a female officer in the face and escaped. He ran into the woods, still handcuffed and only wearing shorts. Fort Bend County deputies found the prisoner near Rosenberg.
Authorities say he opened the back door of a patrol car and tried to escape again but his second attempt was unsuccessful.
