It happened around 9pm on Westheimer at the West Loop. The two victims were inside their vehicle in a CVS parking lot to meet an old friend when they were ambushed by three carjackers. The trio opened fire on the victims.
"Tried to get inside the car and then started shooting at the complainant through the front passenger window," said an HPD officer with whom we spoke.
The victims jumped out of their car to escape the bullets, but one man was shot in his hand. The other wasn't hurt.
Police are still looking for the stolen vehicle. It's described as a Chevy HHR with license plates, BN2-G923.
