The child was found by the dog's owner Monday morning in western Victoria County.
Kylar Johnson vanished from his home Sunday night. Search dogs were called in a dozens of people went searching for him. A neighbor went to feed his dogs this morning and found the boy's body. The boy reportedly got into the dog's enclosure and was mauled to death.
Parents in Victoria say they are shaken by the boy's death.
"I have small children of my own and I think its the parents responsibility to keep up with their children," resident Darrel Hogan said.
"I know a lot of people watch their dogs and watch their kids as well you know, I try to stay clear from animals like that as well," resident Pedro Flores said.
The boy's remains were sent to Austin for an autopsy.
