On Sunday, the students whose lives he touched paid tribute to him.
Lawton Sesler was a fifth grade math and science teacher at Robison Elementary in Cypress.
Hundreds of students and parents gathered at the school to release balloons and share their memories of him.
They said Sesler would crack jokes and even sing to make his classroom a fun learning environment.
