It happened last night on Creighton Road near FM 1314 in Conroe. Investigators say the suspects hid their truck near the man's home. The man found the suspects and ordered them to the ground. When they didn't comply, the man shot one in the stomach.
He was rushed to Conroe Regional Hospital in critical condition. The second man fled the scene.
