The Bangladesh Association of Houston held a groundbreaking ceremony Sunday on Renn Road in southwest Harris County.
Bangladesh's ambassador to the U.S. attended the ribbon cutting.
The association says the facility will hold classrooms, a clinic, a museum and a library.
About 15,000 people of Bangladeshi heritage live in the Houston area.
