A child who was allegedly taken during a car theft in Houston was found safe and unharmed about an hour later, officials said.

According to police, a woman was walking into a convenience store in the 7500 block of Homestead Road around 8:30pm when a homeless man asked her to buy him a drink. She said no and went inside.

When the woman came back outside, her car was gone, officials said. She told police her five-year-old son was in the back seat.

One hour later, the child was found dropped off at a Fiesta grocery store on San Jacinto.

Police are looking for the suspect and the car -- a navy blue Honda Accord.
