Pure Light Missionary Baptist Church held several fundraisers this weekend to help pay attorney fees in an ongoing legal battle.
Pastor Anthony Moten says the previous pastor sold the church building to a Florida company without the congregation's permission.
The church has been fighting ever since to save its historic Fifth Ward location in the 5200 block of Noble St.
Moten says the church has already spent $40,000 on legal fees.
