Artavious Deon Hollins, 37, is charged with murder. According to court documents, a witness says Hollins, also known as "Action," got into a verbal confrontation with Derrick Williams, 40, in the courtyard of an apartment complex at 4250 W. 34th St. on November 5. The witness told police Action went back to his apartment and returned holding a handgun, which he then used to try to strike Williams. After the victim ducked out of the way, Action shot him in the chest and fled the scene, the witness stated.
Police say the witness identified Hollins from a photo array.
No bond has been set in this case.
