Motorcyclist dies in grisly accident on Highway 290

HOUSTON

Around 2:30 this morning, eyewitnesses say a motorcycle rider was going 100 miles per hour when he ran into the back of a pickup. He was thrown off his bike before he was run over by a car and then dragged. The driver of that car says the slick conditions on the freeway didn't allow enough time to avoid hitting the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist who was pinned underneath the vehicle died at the scene. The other two drivers were not hurt.

The freeway was reopened just before 5:30am, but there is still heavy traffic in the area.
