We now know what likely caused a massive wildfire that raged across three counties this fall. Fire investigators believe lightning sparked the flames.

The tri-county wildfire started in September and burned about 19,000 acres in Grimes, Montgomery and Waller Counties.

The Montgomery County Fire Marshal's office examined the fire scene, multiple digital photos and looked into a lightning fire before issuing its final report on the cause of the fire.
