In more than 20 years at First Baptist Center of Life, Pastor Paul Robinson has seen a lot.
"We expect it all and just have to deal with it all," Robinson said.
But last Wednesday when a man walked in asking for prayer, the unexpected happened.
"I just turned around and there he was, with the gun like this," Robinson said.
The church secretary, Querube Daniel, was in the next room.
"He was serious and the gun was loaded and 'I'll blow both of your brains out,' and so and so and so. So I backed up like he told me to," Robinson said.
The pastor says the man had several tattoos.
"That on his neck was written in script, "angel," and not little letters but easily readable," Robinson said.
But that one really stood out.
"I don't really think an angel would be holding a gun on me right here, but anyway" Robinson said.
"In this case we have the additional characteristic, the tattoo of the word "angel" on the side of his neck. If you know who this is, today is the day to pick up the phone and call, you might save a life in the future," said Katherine Cabaniss of Crime Stoppers of Houston.
The man who came in asking for prayer got just one dollar from the church secretary. Pastor Robinson didn't have much more, just three $2 bills.
"The thing is if he had come to the door and said, 'Preacher I'm having trouble, I've got a problem, can you help me?' I would have given him $20," Robinson said.
Now he's a wanted man for taking $7 at a church.
"I pray for him. I'll pray that he'll get caught and I'll pray that he'll learn from this," Robinson said.
That angel tattoo on the right side of the suspect's neck is in red and black letters.
