Houston's late veterans are being remembered with thousands of live wreaths.

Volunteers placed 30,000 wreaths on headstones at Houston National Cemetery on Saturday.

The tradition started at Arlington National Cemetery in 1992 and has spread to 230 cemeteries and monuments across the country.

The group Wreaths Across America hopes the annual tribute brings children and adults together to say thank you to veterans and their families.
