The sheriff's office received the call at about 10:45pm from residents in a home in the 10100 block of Hidden Lake Lane, which is near FM 723 in the Richmond area.
Authorities say two masked men accosted the residents after the family returned home from dinner at about 7pm. They demanded cash, coins and jewelry. The ordeal lasted about two and a half hours with the male resident being attacked during the incident by one of the culprits.
Descriptions of the suspects were not available.
