It happened around 2:30am on Industrial at Jess Pirtle Blvd.
According to Sugar Land police, the driver was eastbound on Jess Pirtle when he lost control of his car for some reason.
He crossed the median and crashed sideways into a tree.
The man was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious condition.
They will test for alcohol at the hospital.
No one else was involved in the accident.
