Bank of America partnered with the Houston Food Bank Thursday to help tackle hunger.

Volunteers came out as part of the program called The Gift of Opportunity to pack boxes of food for those in need. In addition to today's volunteering, BOFA will match two to one every dollar donated to local food banks.

Organizers say while hunger is a year-around issue, the upcoming holidays amplify the need.

"Especially during the holidays, yes, we want the people in the Houston area to feel that going hungry is something they don't even need to worry about," said David Cheney with the Houston Food Bank.
