It happened in the 4500 block of Hopper near Central.
Officials say the victim was shot through the driver's side window of his pickup truck while pulling into a driveway at a mobile home.
A neighbor called authorities around 12:45am after hearing the gun shot
Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies say the victim died before he could pull the keys out of the ignition.
According to neighbors, the truck has been seen at the residence before but they don't believe the victim lived there.
"At this time, we're canvassing the area to see if anybody saw anything, but most everybody was in bed or asleep at the time the shots were fired and nobody saw anything at this point," Sgt. Robert Spurgeon with HCSO Homicide said.
