Today Dave is celebrating 45 years here at Channel 13. He has spent 43 of those years as the main anchor on Eyewitness News. That's a longer tenure than any other anchor in the nation.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, the station held a party in his honor. So how is Dave celebrating this major event? By anchoring the 6pm and 10pm newscasts, of course! Just like he's done every day for the past four and a half decades!
Last week, he was honored for a lifetime of achievement in broadcast journalism and inducted into the Silver Circle by the Lone Star Emmy Chapter.
