Occupy Dallas protesters told to abide by deal

DALLAS, TX

A statement Tuesday from the city to leaders of Occupy Dallas sets a 5 p.m. Saturday deadline for demonstrators to comply or face possible arrest.

The statement, from the city attorney's office, says Occupy Dallas has breached an Oct. 17 agreement by putting up semi-permanent structures and signs, using restrooms at nearby Dallas City Hall and not properly collecting trash.

The statement says city officials are concerned about a "pattern of criminal activity," including the alleged sexual assault of a child, the removal of an infant over possible endangerment, plus arrests for trespassing.

Representatives for Occupy Dallas didn't immediately respond to messages Wednesday from The Associated Press.
