Dr. David Cabrera, an Army psychologist, had been in Afghanistan less than a month when he was killed in the attack. A suicide bomber detonated an explosion on the UN convoy with which Dr. Cabrera was traveling.
He was born in Florida but grew up in Houston and graduated from Sam Houston High School. He leaves behind a wife and four children.
