Reward increased for capture of wanted men

HOUSTON

Javier Cortez, Jr., of Pasadena is one of the two men for whom the reward money has been increased. Anyone with information that leads to his arrest is now eligible for up to a $10,000 reward. The other is Reginald O'Keith Williams fo Houston. Reward money for information leading to his capture is now up to $6,000. Your information is guaranteed to be anonymous.

Cortez, 31, is wanted for homicide and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution in connection with an April 8, 2008, incident in which investigators say Cortez and an accomplice are accused of robbing and killing a man. It is believed that after the victim was robbed and shot twice by the accomplice, Cortez stood over the victim and shot him an additional nine times.

Investigators say Cortez is affiliated with the Tango Blast gang, and is known to carry a pistol and a shotgun. They say he also has a history of drug abuse.

Cortez has "JR" tattooed on his upper right arm and "Maria" on his upper left arm, and has a mole on the front of his left ear.

Williams, 42, is wanted for parole violation and failure to register as a sex offender. Investigators say he was recently seen in the Dallas area. This, after leaving a Houston halfway house in 2001. He has family in Freeport.

His convictions include aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault of a child and sexual assault. Police say Williams is known to threaten his victims with physical harm while assaulting them. .
