Police say the driver of a Ford Explorer was killed after he ran a red light and lost control of his vehicle in east Houston.

It happened around 8pm Saturday on Market at East Loop.

According to officials, the unidentified male driver ran the red light and then swerved into the median.

The vehicle flipped and the driver was partially ejected. He hit his head on the road and a guardrail, investigators said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
