Ryan Middle School and Wilson Montessori were originally rated 'academically unacceptable' by the TEA, but according to HISD, after the appeal, the state upgraded the two schools to 'academically acceptable.'
The change brings the number of HISD schools that met state standards last year up to 259 of 282 campuses. That's 92 percent of schools in the district.
