A former Houston police officer plead no contest to a DWI charge connected to crash with a school bus last spring.

Ruben Trejo was sentenced to one-year probation and a $500 fine. He will also have to install a breathalyzer device in his vehicle.

Trejo's blood alcohol level was over twice the legal limit when he crashed his pickup into a school bus back in April. Seven other HPD officers were recently disciplined for allegedly trying to cover for Trejo.
