Attorneys say the teen pleaded no contest in the case last week. He was charged with murdering his father, Doctor Rick Lohstroh, in 2004. Attorneys claimed the boy's mother brainwashed him into hating his father.
The conviction was overturned and a new trial was ordered. But, this plea avoids the trial.
The teen will be on probation until his 18th birthday next year.
