Thomas Bradley Haynes, 32, is charged with aggravated sexual assault of the elderly. He's accused of breaking into the 72-year-old victim's home in the early hours of June 13. Court documents state the victim says she woke up to "an unknown, naked, heavily tattooed adult white male who appeared from behind her sofa." She told police that he told her to shut up, forced her into the bedroom and raped her.
The woman says the man then told her they were going to spend the day together, court documents show, but that she told him a family member was stopping by soon. She told investigators that the man left and she called police.
According to court documents, DNA evidence taken in a rape kit performed on the victim linked Haynes to the crime.
Authorities say Haynes has family that live within one block of the victim.
Bond has been set at $100,000.
