On Thursday night, DEA agents made their way across the Houston area, arresting doctors, pharmacists and other people who they say are part of a big operation allegedly dispensing prescription pain pills illegally.

Drug enforcement agents say they are cracking down on 1s people tied to pain clinics in the area. They include three pharmacists and a couple of doctors who are allegedly cutting corners to illegally dispense large quantities of painkillers.

One of those suspects arrested Thursday night is Dr. Akili Graham.

Investigators tell Eyewitness News the alleged pill mills don't have proper licensing and allow drug seekers to get large quantities of dangerous pills without going through the proper channels.

Law enforcement sources also say a former Houston police officer is among that group agents are looking to arrest.

So far, the DEA's picked up six of those people. They are in the process of being booked in jail here.

This DEA operation is ongoing and will continue into Friday morning.
