Robert Kirk Jones, 51, is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14. According to court documents, the 14-year-old victim, who was 13 at the time of the alleged assault, has a learning disability and functions at the level of an 8-year-old.
On October 10, 2010, court documents state Jones sexually assaulted the girl while she was visiting his girlfriend's apartment to eat after church. Other visitors were outside. Jones allegedly started to touch the girl in the kitchen and led her to a bedroom where he sexually assaulted her.
The victim picked Jones out of a photo lineup, investigators say.
Jones has a prior conviction for felony offense of delivery of a controlled substance in 1996.
Bond has been set at $30,000.
