Woman sues over turbulent flight to Houston

HOUSTON

Colleen O'Neal says what should have been a 20-minute flight from College Station to Houston turned into a two-hour nightmare. She says the turbulence from the 2009 flight was so severe she felt like the plane lost power and was falling out of the sky.

According to her lawsuit, the plane should have never flown because tornadoes and thunderstorms were reported in the area that day.

"I don't think there was anyone on that aircraft that didn't feel like they were going to perish," said O'Neal.

O'Neal says she's been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder. She wants Continental, United, Colgan Air and Pennacle Airlines to pay for her medical bills and mental anguish.

Continental said it wouldn't comment because it hasn't reviewed the lawsuit yet.
