Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a missing man who was found in a bayou in northwest Houston over the weekend.

The 40-year-old man's body was discovered face-down in the bayou near the 9400 block of Houston-Rosslyn Road around 9am Saturday.

His identity has not been released and his cause of death is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The man's family was at the scene Saturday. They said he had been missing for three days.

There were some injuries to the body, but police said Monday that it does not appear foul play was involved.

According to officials, the man was known to fish in the area, but he did not have any fishing equipment with him when his body was found.
