Arrest made in killing of man who was visiting friends

HOUSTON

Marquis Hill, 21, is charged with murder in the 180th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Colby Ivan McCardle, 21, in an incident at 906 Greens Road shortly after 7pm on September 22.

Police say McCardle was in an apartment complex parking lot at the above address talking with friends. The group was approached by an unknown black male suspect and words were exchanged. At some point, the suspect pulled a gun from his waistband and began firing. McCardle was struck in the arm and chest. His friends drove McCardle to the hospital.

McCardle suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Further investigation identified Hill as the suspect in this case and police say on September 30, Hill turned himself in. Police say HIil admitted to his involvement in McCardle's death.
