Remains of man found in park identified

HOUSTON

Houston police say the victim is tentatively identified as Victor Figueroa Nunez, 53. According to police, a city worker discovered human bones scattered in a heavily-wooded area on the east side of Hermann Brown Park at 200 Maxey Road about 5pm on September 27. Evidence gathered at the scene provided a tentative identification of the remains as those of Nunez.

His cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

Investigators are asking anyone who knew Nunez or has information in this case to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
