Fire damages duplex in NE Houston

A duplex in northeast Houston was damaged by fire early Saturday, but it was unclear if anyone lives there.

Firefighters were called to a vacant duplex on Cavalcade near Lockwood just after 4:30am Saturday.

When they arrived, they saw light smoke and small flames coming from part of the structure.

Neighbors said the duplex as occupied, but no residents were found at the location.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was unknown, but arson investigators were looking into it.
