Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash

Authorities are searching for a driver who struck and killed a woman who was walking in northwest Harris County overnight.

It happened on West Mount Houston near Ella Blvd. around 2am Saturday. The roadway was shut down for hours as deputies investigated.

The victim was later identified as Diana DeLeon.

According to Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies, DeLeon was walking east in the inside lane of the 2100 block of West Mount Houston when she was struck by a vehicle.

Officials said the striking vehicle was a small black sedan. It left the scene, traveling east on West Mount Houston

DeLeon died at the scene. The driver of the car remains at large.
