Lone Star College buildings imploded

HOUSTON

It only took a few seconds to demolish the eight-story buildings.

They were acquired by Lone Star College System from Hewlett-Packard late last year as part of the college's goal to create additional parking in an existing garage. The property is part of the campus located at Texas 249 and Louetta Road.

The demolition company says crews stripped most of the metal inside the building to be recycled.

According to officials, the site will be returned to usable green space.
