The FBI is still questioning the six suspected bank robbers they took down during Friday's mid-morning rush hour on the Gulf Freeway near Broadway.

Drivers near the arrest scene saw agents and officers surrounding two vehicles full of suspected bank robbers accused of hitting a bank inside Kroger near Meyerland.

The men arrested Friday have been under surveillance for some time and are believed to be responsible for a string of violent bank robberies, including one last month at a Randall's in New Territory during which Sgt. Michael Ellison with the Harris County Sheriff's Office was shot.

The FBI expects these men to make their first court appearances on Monday. Each suspect has been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit bank robbery.
