Officials say no students were injured after a small plane crashed close to an elementary school in Utah.

Jordan School District spokesman Steve Dunham says the single-engine plane went down near an administrative wing at the school in West Jordan on Thursday, barely missing the building.

Columbia Elementary School remained on lockdown and children were being kept inside as emergency personnel responded to the scene. It wasn't immediately clear if anyone on board the plane was injured.
