A North Texas police officer has been listed in good condition after being shot responding to a dispute that left a man dead and two of his relatives wounded.

Investigators say the suspect allegedly shot two male relatives before Officer Kevin James arrived Thursday morning at a home in Justin.

James responded to a call about a suicidal man and was fired upon as he pulled up. Police Chief Bill Brooks says James exchanged gunfire with the suspect and the officer was shot in the arm. James is recovering at a Fort Worth hospital.

Police are trying to determine if the suspect killed himself or was shot by James.

Conditions on the two wounded men, and their names, haven't been released.

Justin is 20 miles north of Fort Worth.
