One man was arrested and more than $1 million worth of cocaine taken off the street in a drug bust in Conroe Thursday morning, say police.

It was around 8:30am when the Conroe Police Department narcotics unit was conducting an investigation in the 1000 block of South Frazier when 'Cassie,' a K-9 officer got the attention of her handler. Cassie had sniffed out a bag containing 8.8 kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of $1.3 million.

An investigation led officers to Morris Alexander Wise, 31, of Chicago, who they say owned the bag. Morris was arrested and charged with Aggravated Possession of a Controlled Substance. He's being held in the Montgomery County Jail on $200,000.00 bond.
