The board of managers for Parkland Memorial Hospital decided late Tuesday to reassign the CEO, Dr. Ron Anderson, when his contract expires Dec. 31.
The Dallas Morning News (http://dallasne.ws/qREfsb) reports board members held a closed-door meeting, then announced an executive leadership consultant would be hired to work with Anderson about his new duties.
Anderson, who's spent more than 30 years with Parkland, declined comment Tuesday night. He turns 65 next month.
The government's Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on Aug. 23 accepted Parkland's plan to correct violations related to infection control and emergency care. The Dallas County hospital had faced losing Medicare funding if it didn't comply.
