Johnny Walter Bass, 81, was arrested and charged with murder.
According to authorities, the female victim, 74, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities apparently went to the home on Willowood and Griggs to do a welfare check Sunday night. Officers asked Bass where his wife was and he told them she was in the bedroom with a gunshot to her head on Friday morning.
Bass was taken into custody without incident and admitted to investigators his involvement in his wife's death. Police have not released a motive for the shooting.
The victim's identity hasn't been released.
