Gasoline prices in Texas drop 2 cents in past week

HOUSTON

The AAA Texas survey released Thursday says the average of regular unleaded gas in Texas is $3.46, 12 cents below the national average.

The travel agency says the current statewide average is 43 cents below the high point of $3.89 that was reached on May 13.

The most expensive gas in the state over the past week was in Amarillo at an average of $3.47. Fort Worth, Houston and Texarkana reported the lowest averages at $3.42.
