Arson investigators are working to figure out what -- or who -- may have started a fire overnight at an unoccupied home in northeast Houston.

The fire broke out around 11pm Monday at a one-story brick home on Mardale Dr. at Cheeves Dr.

Firefighters arrived and saw heavy smoke coming from the house. They made a fast attack and got the fire out quickly.

According to officials, the blaze started in a back bedroom.

The homeowners were not home at the time. No one was injured.
