The school district said because of projected cuts in state funding, the school district can no longer afford to provide transportation for students who live within two miles of the schools they attend. Transportation for private day care providers also will be suspended.
The changes do not apply to special needs students who have transportation provided as a related service or the after shuttle bus service to the Boys & Girls Club.
The new bus routes take effect this upcoming school year. Anyone with questions about the changes could contact David Bright, Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations, at 979-543-6771.
